Jay tricks Brent and throws him out of the van in order to get closer to Justice (Shannon Elizabeth), the most compassionate of the women and the one with whom he finds himself smitten.
It is revealed that the organization is a front Brent is a patsy, intended as a diversion by freeing an animal from a testing laboratory while the girls rob a diamond depository nearby. On the way, they befriend an animal liberation group, consisting of four women and one man, Brent (Seann William Scott), they had picked up for the cause.

Upon learning of the movie, as well as the negative reaction the movie has received so far on the internet, the two set out on a quest to Hollywood, to prevent the movie from being made and tainting their "good name", or at the very least "get motherfucking movie check" from the royalties due them. Nothing resembling a linear story, of course, and there are the usual fart, weed and dick jokes, not to mention the references to Star Wars and the musical stylings of Morris Day and the Time, but in this film the camera actually moves. “You’re the guy that fucked the pie.”īudgeted at $20 million, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back contains many remarkable things for a Smith movie.
The plot, such as it is, involves the boys’ journey from Jersey to the evil empire of Hollywood to stop Miramax from making a film about their lives starring James Van Der Beek as Jay and Jason Biggs as Silent Bob. Smith, 31, intends to retire Jay and Silent Bob and grow up. Smith needs no defense, and neither does his movie, a blast of comic irreverence that serves as a starring vehicle for two stoner characters who had previously been relegated to the sidelines. Smith’s argument for such jokes is that he wants to “preach tolerance by hiding it in humor.” What’s sad is that Smith has to keep justifying his right to parody prejudice and skewer male adolescents of all ages.
