It’s not that you can’t watch TV shows and films rented or purchased from the iTunes Store on the Mac right now, you can do that, but the arrival of the TV App on the Mac brings the benefits of the TV app in terms to picking up on where you left off on your various devices, and the inclusion of content from other platforms, not just Apple’s.
